The artist
Painted from a lifelong pull toward the wild.
Waylon Christner is a self-taught painter with more than 30 years of experience, working in acrylic and mixed media from Western North Carolina.
His work moves between realism, abstraction, impressionism, and expressionism. Wildlife and landscapes recur not as decoration, but as a way to hold strength, stillness, memory, and mystery in the same frame.
Waylon’s work has been exhibited at Asheville Airport, LaGuardia Airport, Kress Emporium, and galleries across North Carolina and beyond. He also creates commissioned work for collectors, interior designers, and stylists.
